Lucidity Follow-up

Well, now that it's over a year later...my lucid dreams attempts never really resulted in anything. I'm only writing about it because I promised a follow-up, actually. It's mostly because I didn't find an adequate veilcracker, and ended up forgetting, though I just used my watch for a while. I can almost always dream lucidly if I take a nap during the day in an upright position, though, so I have often done that between classes at school. I think the main thing that would help the most is if I got back into keeping a dream journal. Hopefully I'll get into it more, as I've set a few goals to get in the habit of doing things, such as this, writing in journals, FamilySearch indexing, exercising, etc. Today was the first day for most of them, but I have relatives over, so I might not have time to do everything, depending on what we do tonight. Anyway, if anything ever comes of my lucid dreaming attempts, I'll be posting about it here, but otherwise I probably won't say too much more on the matter.

P.S. I'm turning that poll about all-nighters back on, as I'm curious about it...

Broken Links

I've been going through some of the archives (I posted on here more than I remember!) and finding several broken links/missing pics. Someday I may go through and fix them, but for now I'll just put up this apology for anyone who goes through the archives and doesn't get the full experience. Sorry!

Lucidity

First, sorry about the long haitus yet again. I'm not going to dedicate more than a couple sentences to it tho, since it happens and prolly will happen often enough that it would just make a boring header.

Yesterday and today I read all the way through the 300+ comics at http://www.jeffschuetze.com/. Around the 250s he started doing strips about one of the most interesting topics to me - dreaming. Specifically lucid dreaming - when you realize you're dreaming and can therefore take control. He mentions using a "veilcracker", or something you can use to remind yourself to question reality (I know, it's starting to sound like Inception, but it works!). When you're constantly questioning reality, you'll question reality in your dreams too, and more easily realize that something's wrong, therefore being able to take control.

I'm now doing that, and I surprised myself by already having success....despite not yet having a veilcracker. Granted, it was during a mid-day nap, when I've always been more prone to lucidly dream, but I was still surprised. I have been using anything and everything to "remind" myself about questioning reality, so that's probably a factor.

In my dream, some guy was attacking me and had a hold on me, digging something sharp or hard into my side. I was scared, but suddenly realized I was dreaming, thinking "Yes! Now I can get away!" But I didn't know how to do it, and no matter how much I "willed" the guy away, the pain in my side wouldn't go away. I phased into the real world long enough to realize that it was a real pain in my side (I'm still not sure what caused it - I assume just a weird cramp since I was sleeping in a chair), so I adjusted to try to relieve it, but I phased back in to the dream and nothing changed much, just a little less pain. I repeated that a couple times until I just had to completely wake up and change position.

So I had my first success. I'm sure all the other factors were the main reason it happened, but I'm still glad I started out with something like this. Now to get myself a veilcracker...I'm thinking I'll just some white paint or white-out or something and paint a little symbol on my watchband. I'll be reporting more eventually. :)

I'M BACK!

Well, I made it back! I guess I didn't really write about me leaving on here....oh well, it isn't like anyone has been reading it that would already know I was gone....anyway, for the sake of any future readers: I just got back from a 2 year mission in the Philippines for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It was amazing...I'll probably talk more about it in later posts, but if anyone happens to have questions please ask away! I'm glad to explain about anything...

More updates will come in later days - I just wanted to actually get something on here. :)

P.S. Check out the poll!

"I'm glad I saw Epic Movie"

Not really. I have never seen and never wish to see that movie. It is in reference to the comic that it links to (http://xkcd.com/458/ if you have to have it here...). Hover over it to see what I'm talking about. It might make people see my blog for a little while, before everyone else starts doing it too. Although, when I searched for it, only one other person had done it too...it was only just barely posted though, so I'm sure that's the only reason it hasn't exploded yet.

So anyway...in my previous post, "today" obviously meant "in three weeks". Duh. How was that not obvious to you? ..................OK, I'm a bum. But I've been sick, so I actually have a good excuse for once. I'm still sick, but I'm just going to deal with it. What I can't make work better is being kicked off the comp. :( Dad wants to sleep, and since this keyboard is very clicky and pretty close to him, I have to leave. :( But I do have things to post, so I really should be posting soon! As in tomorrow! And I really mean that, even if it doesn't happen.....but it will!!! Really!!! Well, probably...

And the winner is...

So the poll ("What should my next poll be?") is done and the winner is "What is your favorite color of M&M's?"! I modified it a bit so you could choose more than one if you wanted tho. Sorry I've been so slow, since it actually closed the last day of May...oh well, I think today will make up for it.

Best. iPod Skin. Ever.

(This was intended to be posted a couple days ago, but various things have made me put it off)

On Saturday I went to cultural fair (Where a certain someone wore a kimono for her booth. :) ) While we were putting stuff away, I noticed someone's iPod sitting on a shelf next to us. It had the most awesome skin ever on it. Pictures follow:
(If you don't know the significance of these, shame on you. :P Go here now.)

If I had an iPod, I would most definitely have this skin. However...I can't find it anywhere. I've Googled all over, but I can't find it. Maybe I'd have to go to an Apple Store, or maybe it's a custom skin. I have no idea, but I can't find it. If I could find a skin like this for my DS.......*drools*

Since the back side is a little fuzzy, here's what it says:
STATION 1 - THE POD
SERIAL # 4-8-15-16-23-42
QUARANTINE
ORIENTATION - [The regular iPod navigation circle]

I have no idea whose this is, so I can't ask them...if anyone has any idea, please let me know ASAP!

EDIT: Apologies if you read it while a big chunk of the second paragraph was gone. It still isn't there, but a short version is. Blogger is really crappy at handling "<"s I've noticed. Darn crappy HTML...(I like HTML, don't get me wrong. I hate that the auto-HTML thing doesn't work.)

EDIT2: GAH! It's even worse than I thought! I have simply gotten rid of the part that wasn't working, since it won't let me do what I want. Grr.
